Focus on the Groom!

Weddings (and wedding photos) are typically focused all around the bride. This isn’t an awful thing, but I believe that grooms need their time to shine as well! Here are five tips to help you focus on the groom during your big day:

TIP 1 – TO THE GROOM: Choose your attire carefully and don’t be afraid to stand out!

A black suit or tuxedo is a very safe and likely handsome choice, but if something else catches your eye – try it on! You never know what a little pop of color or different cut of a jacket might do for your overall look.

TIP 2 – TO THE BRIDE: Involve your husband-to-be in the planning phase.

Pinterest is 100% your friend in this situation. Whether he has an account or you just screen share with yours, go ahead and set up a board focused on photos of the groom. Scroll through the images together to pick out the ones you love and share them with me. We’ll be sure to add them to your “must have” shot list.  <3

TIP 3 – TO THE GROOMSMEN: Do your thing!

Laugh, joke, be yourselves! Whatever your “usual” is, make it happen. You’re here to celebrate the fact that one of your very best friends is getting married. Keeping him happy and relaxed is super important, so help a guy out!

TIP 4 – TO THE BRIDESMAIDS: Help the men out.

Notice that a boutonniere isn’t falling off to the side, a bowtie is crooked, or someone’s hair just needs a little touch-up? Go ahead and help them out! Whether it’s the groom or the groomsmen, everyone will be super thankful for your watchful eye (and helping hand) when they see that you’ve helped avoid any bloopers in their final gallery of images.

TIP 5 – TO THE FAMILY: Support your son, grandson, brother, friend.

Getting married is a big deal and there’s so much that goes into planning a wedding that sometimes nerves can get the best of you. Help the groom relax and enjoy his big day by letting him know that he has your full support.
