I was born and raised in the coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina, spent five years in the sailing capitol of the world — Annapolis, MD and am now back home in my beautiful Charleston. Since then, I’ve traveled all over the United States documenting love stories for couples and families. I now live in beautiful downtown Charleston with my husband Daniel, and our rainbow baby River George.

I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.

When I was just thirteen, I was given my first point and shoot camera by family friends and I spent hours photographing every object I came across. I truly loved it!

It makes sense that my love of photography started with family and friends. What was once a hobby quickly became a passion and ultimately a career. Ten years of professional photography have allowed me to photograph and serve countless couples, families and friends all over the world.

Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell a story and showcase the beauty of the people in the images and the world around them.

WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT

This may be your families first time working with a professional photographer. If so, let me reassure you that I am here to work for, and with you to make your session as happy and memorable as possible. This is your day to relax and enjoy the family; I’ll do the rest!

Before the session, you will receive your contract. I can schedule a phone consultation with you or chat via email to run over the final details of what to wear, location ideas, what to bring, and a place and time to meet on the day of the session. Don’t worry I will send you a follow-up email with the details we discussed and any links that may help in the planning process.

On the day of your session, we’ll meet at the agreed time and location and get the fun started!

I encourage you and your children to interact, play and have fun during the session so we can capture the natural bond that shines between you. Be sure to bring some yummy snacks and water for your child and yourself. Children are unpredictable, that’s what makes them so lovable!However, there are some things that can help prepare them for your session. If they are a young, a nap before the session always helps, as well as bringing along a toy or snack I can hold to get theirattention during photos.

Sit back and relax! I will be hard at work editing your images, so they are perfectly presented to you. You even may be able to find occasional sneak peaks on my social media pages.

Approximately two weeks after your session you will receive an online gallery with all of your final edited images. These photos are all high resolution and can be downloaded by you, or any friends or family. You can also choose to order prints directly from the online gallery if you wish. These photos are all professionally printed with a quick turn-around time. (If you need them in a certain time frame, be sure to check with me first to make sure you’ll receive them on time.)

faq

How does payment work?

I send you the initial online contract for you to sign the day you book your session. Your full payment is not due till two weeks before your session. For the Hello Baby collection, payment is divided into four session costs and you pay at the time of your session.

Will I be able to print my photos?

Once your receive your images, you can share them with friends and family and order prints anywhere you like using the high-resolution images. If you want to ensure the quality of your prints will be professional, you can order prints directly from the online gallery.

Do you use props?

I do not provide props for your session. However, I always tell clients if you would like any props to feel free to bring along any items you would like to include. We can discuss this in further detail as well. I’ve also created a Pinterest board to help with prop ideas you can include in your session. www.pinterest.com/hannahlanephoto/prop-ideas/
