Earlier this year I introduced you to AJ and Christie, sweet lovebirds who celebrated their upcoming wedding with a dreamy engagement photo session. Over the weekend, I had the honor of photographing their wedding day! It was such a beautiful event, I had a hard time picking my favorite images for their sneak peek.
AJ and Christie prepared for their wedding and did the first look photos at The inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. The wedding was held at Cascia Winery and Vineyards.
AJ and Christie were surrounded by a wonderful group of friends and family as they prepared to say their vows. They helped to keep the mood light and relaxed, even in the most tender moments.
Here are three tips to help you plan for amazing ‘getting ready’ photos on your wedding day:
Tip 1: Pick a space that offers natural light!
Lighting is always important, but especially when it comes to indoor photos! If you want light and airy images like these of Christie getting ready with her bridemaids, find a space that has large windows and allows for lots of natural light. Don’t be afraid to ask your venue if they have any alternative beautiful spaces that they will let you utilize for your wedding.
Tip 2: Coordinate your ‘getting ready’ wear.
Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that you have to go out and buy everyone something fancy. Simply asking your bridesmaids to wear coordinating colors will help bring consistency to your images.
Tip 3: Please give yourself enough time to relax.
Your wedding takes months and months to plan, but the actual day flies by! When planning your schedule, be sure to build in some extra time that will allow you to relax and enjoy the special moments. That buffer will also help you to avoid any rushing should you come across any issues that require extra time (think traffic, hair/make-up, etc.).
Christie and AJ, it was my honor to be your wedding photographer! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wonderful wedding!
Congratulations AJ and Christie! May God continue to bless your love story as richly as he did your wedding day. <3
