I always recommend hiring a wedding photographer to document all of the excitement leading up to your wedding. As an Annapolis wedding photographer with years of weddings under my belt, there are a few reasons why I love engagement photo sessions.
First off, it’s so nice to get a chance to connect with your photographer at an engagement session before the pressure of your wedding day. Having this connection will give you a comfort level that will allow your photographer to work with ease on your wedding day and will allow you to feel a bit more comfortable with the photographic process. In this same vein, an engagement photo session is a “warm up” for your wedding day. I always find that my couples are so much more confident in front of the camera on their wedding days after having gone through an engagement session. This is so important because not everyone is born a model (I know I’m not!), so it’s nice to feel comfortable on the biggest day of your life!
I also love the idea of having a professional set of photographs with your significant other in something other than your wedding apparel. Documenting the pre-wedding excitement is something so special to have as part of your family photo albums for years to come.
Andy and Trish opted for an Annapolis engagement session with me, and I’m so glad that they did! We headed to downtown Annapolis for their engagement photos and were able to capture the perfect summer light and their amazing love!
Trish looked beautiful and classy in her fitted lace dress with a flutter skirt, and Andy complimented her perfectly in his blazer and tie. They have such sweet chemistry and mutual adoration, which is evident in their images.
I love how their Annapolis engagement session tells the story of a beautiful, evening summer stroll through the city. It shows off the incredible hydrangea and rose bushes, charming porch steps, classic Annapolis architecture, and a glowing sunset by the water.
I can’t wait for their October wedding in just a few months!
