As I prepare to photograph Brian and Kaitlyn’s wedding at Brookside Gardens tomorrow, I’m looking back and still swooning over their engagement photos! This gorgeous couple was an absolute dream to work with and I am so excited for their wedding is finally here.

One of the things I loved about this session is how relaxed and cozy these two are. The snuggles and smooches came super natural and we easily pushed through that initial awkwardness that just seems to happen sometimes with this type of session.
These images are a great example that not of the photos within a gallery require you to be smiling and looking at the camera. The moments that just “happen” may just turn out to be your absolute favorite. So don’t be afraid to switch it up when it’s your turn to be photographed… tell jokes, laugh, be serious, just enjoy your tme together. I’ll worry about the rest! 🙂

For all of you recently engaged couples who are waiting to do their engagement session, here are a couple tips you can learn from Brian and Katilyn:
- When choosing what to wear, be you! Whatever clothing you wear should represent your style and your dynamic as a couple. In this case, jeans and comfy shoes were perfect!
- Relax. There is no pressure here! Engagement sessions are set up for you to not only capture this special moment in your lives, but also to get to know your photographer and have the opportunity to become comfortable in front of the camera. The more comfortable you are, the better for your wedding day!
- Pick a location that fits you. There are so many incredible choices out there, choose one that represents your lifestyle and the things that you love. Whether we meet at a beautiful park, a quaint downtown, or an incredible city by the bay – whatever you like best is the perfect choice. If you need ideas, let me know! I can definitely help.
