One of the greatest parts of photographing weddings on the East Coast is hearing such amazing love stories from unlikely couples that connect from all over the world. Because there are so many young professionals in cities like DC, Philadelphia, and New York, I have found that as an Annapolis wedding photographer, my couples have roots from all across the country and somehow end up meeting on the East Coast and falling in love. I call it serendipity!
After learning about how Christen and Alex met, I definitely think serendipity had something to do with it! On a snowy Saturday in Baltimore, both Alex and Christen were out with friends at a local tavern. While both of their friends were trying to figure out how they knew each other, Alex and Christen were eyeing one another. And a spark ignited before they knew it!
Though Alex lived in Pennsylvania and Christen in Maryland, they dated long-distance for a while, until Alex moved to Baltimore for Christen. And you could say the rest is history.
I had a wonderful time photographing their downtown Annapolis engagement session last fall. And celebrating with them in their Southern Maryland wedding was an absolute blast! After a heartfelt ceremony at St John’s Church, they continued with the excitement with a beautiful reception at Sotterley Plantation.
Everything about their Sotterley Plantation wedding reception was perfect. From the gorgeous flower arrangements by Blush Floral designs to the pretty lounge set up by Something Vintage, everything came together so nicely. And what made it even better is the fact that it’s a very special location for the bride’s family!
Christen looked stunning in her modern Anne Barge sheath dress, and Alex was her perfect compliment in his navy Michael Kors suit. I also loved their wedding party style! Her girls had the most amazing two-toned bridesmaid dresses, too!
The whole day was filled with such joy and excitement; I am sad that my time working with these two is ending already! Congratulations, newlywed Supplees!
