Let me be the first to wish you a very happy new year from HannahLane Photography! What a year 2018 proved to be, both personally and professionally as an Annapolis wedding photographer. As much as I loved this past year, I am anxiously awaiting all of the joy I will get to capture and couples I will have the chance to work with in 2019!
From Annapolis weddings to family portrait sessions, I have some really great shoots to look forward to. And on a personal level, I am so excited to see my little one continue to develop and grow! But one of the aspects of being an Annapolis wedding photographer that I am most excited about is the opportunity I will have to see new Annapolis wedding trends emerge!
Here are five of the top 2019 wedding trends that I am most excited about:
1. Simplistic and Classic Wedding Gowns:
Taking a cue from Megan Markle, I’m excited to see the return of classic gowns for brides. With a more simplistic dress, it’s easy to show off all other elements of a wedding day.
2. Indoor Floral Installations:
This trend really started to gain traction in 2018, and we can’t wait to see where it goes next year! I love the statement that a beautiful floral piece makes and how it elevates even the most simplistic backgrounds. I can’t wait to see more ballrooms and reception halls transformed into lush, floral dreamlands.
3. Vellum Paper and Illustrated Invitations:
It’s been so fun to see more and more of my couples incorporate gorgeous paper goods into their wedding days, and I am really looking forward to seeing more of this 2019 trend come to life! Vellum paper is so beautiful and adds dimension to invitation suites, menus, and escort displays. I can’t wait to see more of my couple’s invitations feature illustrations of their venues.
4. Living Coral
Coming from a beachside town, I love that Pantone’s new color of the year is living coral! This is such a fresh hue that can be taken in so many directions, and it will be the perfect accent color for Charleston and Annapolis weddings alike!
5. Charcuterie Tables
This is something that I have been seeing more of at my Annapolis weddings, and it’s something that I am definitely supportive of! As a photographer, it’s visually appealing—and tasty, too! And practically speaking, this is a great way for your guests to mingle and enjoy cocktail hour without having to wait for waiters to pass the canapés.
Happy new year from my family to yours!
