Despite working many weekends of the month as an Annapolis wedding photographer, it’s a welcomed break for me to slow things down and photograph Annapolis family portrait sessions on occasion. It is such an honor to be able to reunite with past wedding clients and connect with new families by spending an afternoon or evening with them, capturing sweet and precious moments with their most cherished loved ones.
And the Owens family photo session followed this sentiment perfectly! We met up at St. John’s College for their Annapolis family portrait session this fall and had an amazing experience. While so many people love to get family portraits done in the fall so that they’re ready in time for holiday cards, this session was even more special.
What makes this Annapolis family portrait session extra unique, is that we celebrated Lindsey and Colin’s little one’s fifth month birthday with the photos! Especially now that I’m a soon-to-be mom, I love having the chance to photograph babies and kids as they grow. I can’t wait to take month-by-month photos of my own baby in the near future!
I loved Colin and Lindsey’s blanket to keep track of the months and will definitely be looking into one of these for my baby boy! It was also fun to celebrate the season with small pumpkins—the perfect fall vignette! Their baby girl loved experiencing the touch, smell, and taste of pumpkins for the first time, and I am so glad we caught it on camera.
St. John’s College set the perfect scene for these fall Annapolis family portraits, as well! The sweeping lawns, historic buildings, and brick sidewalks gave the most charming backdrop. And the Owens make such a beautiful family. This sweet family, combined with stunning golden hour light, resulted in some of my favorite family portraits to date!
