Jaison + Emily are engaged! | Charleston Wedding Photographer

Hannah Lane Photography - Charleston Wedding Photographer

Introducing Jaison and Emily.

We had so much fun exploring downtown together and came away with these gorgeous images from their dreamy engagement session. I’m so thankful that you two chose me to photograph your wedding later this year and hope you enjoy your gallery!

Are you newly engaged and wondering if you should schedule an engagement photo session before your Charleston wedding?

If so, I’m here to tell you that the answer is absolutely YES!

I’m of course biased, being a Charleston wedding photographer, but here are a few perks of having engagement photos taken that you do not want to miss out on. Let’s start with the basics… an engagement session can take place at any point of the engagement, up until the wedding. It can be scheduled with any photographer, but I highly recommend you set up the session with the Charleston wedding photographer of your choice. We’ll discuss that shortly.

Perk #1: You’ll receive a gallery of gorgeous images of you and your honey.

I mean, the goodness could stop right there. Professional photos of you and your soon to be spouse are incredible keepsakes. Beyond the sentimental bits though, you’ll be able to use those images for your save the dates, wedding invitations, wedding props, to hang on the wall, the list goes on.

Perk #2: You get to relax.

Weddings are absolutely amazing. You’re surrounded by all of your friends and family and finally get to tie the knot. However, they’re often quite stressful. Everyone needs something and the bride/groom are typically expected to have all (or most) of the answers. I encourage you to take the time to relax during your engagement photos and know that I’m here to take care of the rest. I’ll watch for lighting, backgrounds, all the good stuff. You just show up and relax.

Perk #3: Get to know your photographer.

This is really the most important part of your Charleston engagement photo session. Think of it like a dress rehearsal for your big day and afterwards, you’ll know exactly what to expect from your photographer (based on first hand experience, not word of mouth.) Here are a few things you’ll want to consider before, during, and after your engagement session:

  • How does your photographer make you feel?
  • Did you receive gentle direction about how to stand/pose for the best shots?
  • Do you love the gallery from your engagement session?

Are you ready to meet your Charleston wedding photographer and schedule your engagement session?
