One of the perks of being an Annapolis wedding photographer is the chance I have to photograph portraits and weddings all along the East Coast! From local, Maryland engagement sessions to engagement sessions shot in Charleston and beyond, it is so fun to explore new places and photograph beautiful couples in locations that are meaningful to them.
While Alex and Chase are getting married in Baltimore next year, many of the milestones in their relationship have taken place in New York City. It’s where they currently live as well, so it was only natural that we do a New York City engagement session!
So I popped up to New York for a couple of days, and Alex and Chase showed me around their amazing city! When planning their engagement session, they picked out all of the locations that mean the most to them. We had a blast wandering busy New York streets, sneaking through neighborhoods, and stopping in Grand Central Station.
We even photographed them in their favorite diner, where they go for breakfast every Saturday morning! It’s the little details like this that will make their engagement photographs so much more personal and so memorable. I love the idea of them being able to look back at their photos in thirty years and be transported, even for a minute, to that special diner that they enjoyed while they were dating.
There is just something about the energy of NYC, and I love how it is captured in this New York City engagement session. We were blessed with soft and beautiful light—and Chase and Alex’s darling chemistry! They were naturals in front of the camera and so fun to photograph.
I particularly loved their style too. Alex picked out the classiest and most relaxed outfits: a flirty polka-dot dress and oversized sweater and jeans, and Chase was her perfect match. One of my favorite things about this session is the way that Chase looks at Alex. His love for her is so tangible! Don’t believe me? See for yourself!
