Is there ever a reason to not be photographed?! I know that we can often get caught up in the busyness of our own lives, insecurities that we may face from time to time, or other issues that can deter us from being photographed with our loved ones. I often hear, “I will be photographed when…” and to be honest, it always makes me a little sad.
As an Annapolis wedding and portrait photographer, I love it when couples and families use any reason to book a photography session because I firmly believe in capturing a family in every stage and cherishing all of the seasons of life. And one of the best excuses for portrait sessions is an anniversary!
Even though you’ll be photographed during your engagement and wedding year more than almost any other time in your life, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t opt for a first anniversary photography session! Celebrating a first anniversary is such a wonderful milestone, and so I was naturally thrilled when Evan and Caylee contacted me to celebrate with them during their Annapolis anniversary photography session.
We spent the loveliest June evening together in downtown, strolling the historic streets and enjoying sunset on the waterfront. It was the perfect time of year to capture gorgeous greenery around every corner! We took some of my favorite photographs on a quiet street lined with the prettiest hydrangea bushes. The shades of pink flowers looked perfect with their choice of apparel, and the whole scene was utterly romantic!
I loved photographing the sweet love they share; it’s so obvious how much they care for one another, which made my job so easy! And their East Coast chic outfits were the best compliment to the backdrop. From Evan’s Sperry topsiders to Caylee’s beautiful, flowy sundress and strappy heels, they epitomized class. And I would be remiss to not talk about that incredible, soft lighting we were blessed with!
I feel so lucky to have been able to tell the story of their first year! Enjoy this relaxed and romantic anniversary session in downtown Annapolis, and congratulations Caylee and Evan!
