Can you believe this beautiful young woman is a high school senior? I had such an incredible time in downtown Charleston with Kendall during her senior photo session! We explored Waterfront Park and even took photos at Vendue Inn where Kendall works.
Getting senior portraits taken is a BIG DEAL both for the senior and for the parents! With that in mind, I do everything in my power to make each senior portrait session an experience you’ll enjoy. Here are four things you can expect during your session that help me create the images you’ll cherish forever.
- I’ll ask a couple questions prior to our session to help me plan.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a pop quiz! 🙂 Simple questions like, ‘What are some of your favorite hobbies?’ or ‘Do you have any locations that are really important to you’ help me to formulate a plan that fits your individual wants and needs.
- You’ll be invited to browse through my Pinterest boards for ‘what to wear’ inspiration.
And if you have already put together a pinterest board for what you have in mind, please PLEASE share it with me! I’d love to get a feel of the aesthetic that you’re going for.
- Let’s talk about props!
What to bring (and what to leave at home). The cap and gown is an obvious must-have, but other props can help add a nice variety to your gallery of images. Do you have something sentimental that you want to feature? Tell me all about it so that I can plan accordingly.
- Posing in front of a camera is not exactly the same as taking a selfie…
But that’s okay! And to be honest, selfies are great practice for knowing angles, etc. If I can give you one tip prior to your actual session, it is this: relax. It may take a few minutes to get comfortable in front of the camera but I promise to help guide the process along with simple suggestions on how to pose.
