Michael and Ainsley Proposal | Featured on Style Me Pretty

I personally believe that being an Annapolis wedding photographer is one of the best jobs out there—and not only because I get to photograph amazing Maryland weddings! As a creative and a storyteller, it is incredible when opportunities arise that highlight all of my interests. And this happens quite often! One of the greatest examples of this is Ainsley and Michael’s surprise proposal that I was lucky enough to photograph a few weeks ago.

Michael called me to set up the sweetest and most personalized proposal in Annapolis. We disguised the session as an editorial with Michael and Ainsley to play “bride” and “groom.” Even though Michael was Active Duty Military at the time and we only had a couple of weeks to plan the whole event, he was adamant about the details being specific to them because he wanted his soon-to-be fiancée to love every minute of it!

Alongside a team of the best vendors, I helped orchestrate every detail and am so pleased with how it all turned out. It’s not only a gorgeous inspiration shoot for Maryland weddings—it was a heartfelt proposal, too! Ainsley was absolutely shocked (in the best way!), and Michael was thrilled with the results. The shoot came together so nicely that it was featured on a top wedding blog, Style Me Pretty here.

This summertime editorial shoot is full of darling sweets, beautiful florals, and of course, a stunning couple! We paid tribute to Ainsley’s interests by adding a lot of geometric elements, cool angles, and edgy metallics. These details were juxtaposed perfectly with the softness of the florals and Ainsley’s sweeping, flowy gown. Some of my favorite elements are the Lucite chairs next to the tablescape—the raised floral arrangements, gold-rimmed plates, geometric glassware, and artistic menus. I also loved the donut tower and wall and show-stopping gold altarpiece.

The whole shoot together features so many of my favorite Maryland wedding trends right now.

Working with Ainsley and Michael was a true highlight of my summer, and I am so happy to be sharing these photos with you today! Warning: these photos are best enjoyed with a donut in hand.
